If you’re looking for a list of barbecue or judging classes, Meathead over at AmazingRibs.com has put together a great one:

 Barbecue, Grilling, And Judging Classes

I agree completely with him. If you’re serious about winning at competition barbecue then you must take every opportunity to learn from the people doing it on a day to day basis.

I consider myself a constant student of BBQ and I take every opportunity to learn something new.

Everyone’s been there before, spending money on competitions just to finish in the middle or bottom third of the pack. It’s no fun putting all that hard work, time, and money into something and not have a chance to come out on top.

The most important thing you’ll learn at one of these classes is how to think like a champion. There’s way more to it than cooking good meat.
