Bacon Wrapped Meatball Smoked

Bacon-Wrapped Meatballs AKA Moink Balls Recipe

Moink Balls are basically meatballs wrapped in bacon – and then rubbed, grilled and glazed. They get the name by combining MOO + OINK. These little bites of delicious are perfect football food because they are easy, quick and folks love them. And this right here is my version of them… To make these Moink Balls you need a few things: First you take your bacon and cut the slices in half. Then to assemble your moink balls, you wrap the bacon around the meatball and use a toothpick to hold the bacon in place. moinkball4 Once you have all your meatballs wrapped in bacon, now you season with Killer Hog’s BBQ Rub – or really any BBQ Rub you like that doesn’t have too high of a salt content. moinkball3 Now it’s time to grill or cook your Moink Balls. Get your smoker or grill set at 275 degrees and place these bacon-wrapped meatballs on the cooker. Because the meatballs are already cooked, you aren’t worried about the internal temp – but you want to cook until the bacon has a great, mahogany color. This typically takes 1 – 1.5 hours. I suggest to start checking on your Moink Balls at the 45 min mark and keep an eye on them until they have the color you want. moinkball2 Once the Moink Balls have the color you want, it’s time to apply your glaze. I like to use 18oz of Killer Hog’s BBQ Sauce (or any BBQ sauce you prefer) and ½ cup of apply jelly. Just dip each Moink Ball in the glaze and place it back on your cooker for 10 – 15 minutes to allow that sauce to set. Once your glaze has set, all that’s left to do is serve and eat. moinkball1 Malcom Reed Connect on Facebook Follow me on Twitter Subscribe to my YouTube Channel Find me on Google+ Follow me on Instagram Buy Killer Hogs Products Here

Malcolm, if doing this on a grill, am I putting them on direct or indirect heat? In the video, it looked like direct. Thanks again for all the recipes!

What if I use orange marmalade? The apple jelly was sold out believe it or not.
