We went into Memphis in May this year expecting to make Finals… but we didn’t even make top 10. (10 Bones BBQ, Yazoo Delta Q and The Shed are the 3 teams that made finals).
We had high hopes because we had switched to whole hog this year, we had spent the entire summer getting the method down just right and then we made finals with 10 Bones BBQ and Yazoo Delta Q 3 weeks prior at SpringFest. And because of these reasons we had every expectation of getting on that stage this year.
But that’s ok… really, it just lit a fire. We are going to spend the entire summer going to every contest we can find (both MBN sanctioned and KCBS). As soon as I get our dates, we are going to update them on the website and post the information on the blog.
Our next contest is the Variety Club BBQ Bash (a KCBS contest) on June 4 & 5th and then the next weekend (June 11 &12th) we will be at the Desoto Shrine Club BBQ Cook-Off.
Our plan is to hit-up as many BBQ contests (and take as much prize money) as we can this year so we are ready to walk that stage next year.
