While I was in GA this past weekend, I checked-out a few BBQ restaurants in Athens, GA.
Harry’s Pig Shop and Jot Em Down BBQ.
If you are ever in Athens, then I would strongly suggest to skip right over Jot Em Down and head straight to Harry’s Pig Shop. Their BBQ is the real thing… they were smoking, they were basting and they have some other great dishes too.
Make sure you try the Pork & Scallion Wontons – they were probably the best thing on the menu… and that is saying a lot.
The place looks more like a 50’s diner than a BBQ joint – and it’s right in the middle of a strip mall… but I was impressed the quality of BBQ I found (and I check-out a LOT of BBQ places).
