Got a question about pellet cookers…
Malcom, I use a pellet cooker and like it real well but is that the way to go on butts or wood?
I see a lot of pellet cookers on the bbq circuit and those guys do well with them. I’ve never actually cooked on one but I do like the idea.
One thing I’ve learned over my years of cooking is that it doesn’t take much smoke to flavor meat, as long as you have the right kind of smoke.
Pellet cookers are efficient because they produce the right smoke and are easy to operate. The down side of them is the cost of the smoker and pellets, and the fact that you have to have electricity to run them. If the power goes out, you can’t cook. You can cook as good of pork on a pellet cooker as you can a stick burner or any other grill for that matter.
