I found a new, heavy-duty charcoal chimney – it’s a beefed up model compared to the ones you pick-up at Lowe’s or Home Depot… and I couldn’t be happier about it.
I’m pretty tough on equipment and on average I would have to buy at least 2 or 3 new charcoal chimneys each year – and I always hated how flimsy and small they were. So when I saw this big boy chimney I got pretty excited about it. It’s the little things…
This dude is a lot bigger ( probably 2x the size of the typical ones) and made entirely of steel with an expanded metal grate welded in the bottom. The other ones only had a piece of tin with a few holes poked in for a bottom…
Great thing is that it only cost $10 more that the regular ones- and because of how it’s made I’m expecting this one to take some abuse.
I found this chimney at a place called Academy – a sporting good store – but when I checked their online store I didn’t see it. Hopefully I can find these again soon cause I’m thinking I need one for the bbq trailer, one just to keep on hand… maybe one for the fireplace…
