About Malcom and Rachelle Reed

We started HowToBBQRight in 2007. We didn’t know what we were doing… but Malcom loved to cook BBQ and I knew just enough about designing a website to build one. Now we sell our own line of Killer Hogs BBQ Products and create weekly recipes for our HowToBBQRight YouTube Channel and website – and now we’re doing a Podcast! To us, it’s all about cooking delicious food and taking pride in everything we cook.

  1. Wayne Johnson says:

How do you slow smoke a turkey on a Traeger grill 1300 ten to 12 hours and what type of pellets do I use apple hickory mesquite

    • Malcom Reed says:

I smoked a turkey on a pellet grill at 300-325. Depending on the size of the turkey it typically takes around 3-4 hours. I like to use a mild wood like fruit wood or pecan for turkey

  2. Charlie Brown says:

Hi, I want to makeat bacon burnt ends with pork belly. Should I brine the pork belly first or just go with burnt ends technique.

  3. Daryl Harris says:

When will you be doing your cured bacon?

  4. Derek Smith says:

You should think about a How To BBQ Right cooler. You use that low and wide cooler for your briskets. I have looked for one and I think I know which one you use but might be fun to have one with your logo. I would buy it. There does not seem to be a cooler out there designed for BBQ.
